Maude Raymond
Maude Raymond, born in 1987 in Montreal and now based in Mammoth Lakes, California, is a Canadian freeskier known for her smooth, creative, and elegant style, equally comfortable in the park, on groomers, or in the backcountry. She began with ski racing and diving before fully dedicating herself to freeskiing as a teenager, notably in Whistler. A member of the Armada team for over fourteen years, she shares her unique vision of the mountains through films, series, and artistic projects. After facing several serious injuries, she turned to content creation, with projects like her web series “Maad Maude,” and now focuses on explorative, expressive skiing. Today, she stands as an inspiring figure in women’s freeskiing, always seeking authenticity and freedom.
Philip Casabon
Philip Casabon, born in 1989 in Shawinigan, Quebec, is regarded as one of the most creative and influential street and park skiers of his generation. He rose to fame through Level 1 films and numerous videos with Armada, winning the X Games Real Ski twice and being named Skier of the Year in 2018. Loyal to Armada for nearly two decades, he helped design his own pro model, the BDog. Active in street, park, and backcountry, Phil stands out for his smooth style, boundless creativity, and exemplary work ethic.
Mammoth Mountain
Mammoth Mountain is a ski resort located in California’s Sierra Nevada, reaching about 3,370 meters in elevation with a vertical drop close to 945 meters. It features 25 lifts and roughly 150 runs spread over more than 3,500 hectares. Thanks to heavy snowfall averaging over 10 meters annually combined with nearly 300 sunny days, the resort offers one of the longest seasons in North America, often running from October or November through June and sometimes beyond. Mammoth is renowned for its expansive terrain parks with multiple halfpipes, extensive backcountry areas, and its laid-back vibe. It regularly hosts top-level competitions like FIS Grand Prix events and serves as a training ground for many professional skiers and snowboarders.
Armada
Armada was born in 2002 from a vision shared by a small group of professional skiers and friends, including Tanner Hall, JP Auclair, Julien Regnier, and photographer Chris O’Connell. Frustrated by big traditional brands that didn’t understand the booming needs of freestyle and freeride skiing, they decided to build their own company, dedicated to this new generation of skiers. Their goal was simple: design skis by riders themselves to push limits in parks, powder, and big mountain terrain. Based in Costa Mesa, California, Armada quickly earned a reputation for its innovative, independent spirit. It developed iconic models like the ARV for freestyle and the JJ for backcountry. Thanks to the direct involvement of its founders in design and marketing, the brand cultivated an authentic, rebellious image closely tied to freeski culture. Even today, Armada remains true to the legacy left by its founders, keeping passion and creativity at the heart of its identity.
