Hank Vinall
Active: 2022-present | Known for: Carrabassett Valley Academy coaching and Sugarloaf park skiing | Current: CVA freeski coach | Disciplines: park skiing, rail skiing
Hank Vinall is an American freestyle skier and coach whose skiing is rooted in Maine. Carrabassett Valley Academy states that he grew up skiing at Saddleback Mountain before working part-time in the school's freestyle programme. Vinall joined CVA full-time in 2022, helping its freeski athletes develop new tricks and progress on snow. During the summer, he follows the ski season west to coach at Windells Ski Camp near Mt. Hood in Oregon.
Vinall remains an active park skier alongside his coaching work. In 2025, he appeared in Jit Cut, a short Carrabassett Valley Academy crew edit filmed at Sugarloaf with Owen LaRue, Max Hamilton, Ossian Primespivak, Shire Cosby, Zach Chaisson and Alex Bateman. Newschoolers lists Vinall directly among the riders in the project, which was filmed during a short summer-style park session.
His skiing was also highlighted at the 2026 Newschoolers Gathering at Sugarloaf. The event recap described Vinall skiing across the park and getting inverted during the rail-jam session, while Carrabassett Valley Academy recorded him as the recipient of the People’s Choice Award. No World Cup, Nor-Am, X Games or qualifying feature-film record was found under his name, so his documented profile is best understood through park skiing and coaching rather than elite international competition.
