Active: 2019-present | Known for: Big Mess of Homies and Maine street skiing | Disciplines: street skiing, park skiing
Sean Brueninghaus is an American freestyle skier connected to the Maine park and street scene. His documented skiing appears primarily through independent crew videos rather than competition results, with Sunday River and Sugarloaf providing recurring settings. Brueninghaus often appears alongside his brother Ryan and skiers including Ben Amburgey, Rowan Stamp, Sam Scheff and Tommy Cogswell.
One of Brueninghaus' earliest clearly dated appearances is DRIVE-BY, published in November 2019. The North Coast edit was filmed during early-season skiing at Sunday River and listed Sean after Ryan Brueninghaus in its order of appearance. Rowan Stamp, Ben Amburgey, Teddy Michaud, Tommy Cogswell, Kyle Joseph and Sam Deacon were also part of the session.
Brueninghaus also contributed behind the camera. Ryan Brueninghaus' 2020 Street Clips compilation credited Sean among the people who filmed footage from the previous two seasons, together with Sam Scheff, Tommy and Will Smyth and Ben Amburgey. That credit shows Brueninghaus participating in the collaborative production side of the Maine street scene as well as appearing on skis.
In January 2021, North Coast published a short edit focused specifically on Sean and Ryan Brueninghaus at Sugarloaf. The two brothers skied the resort's Stomping Grounds setup, adding another documented park appearance to Sean's record. Rails and shaped park features remained the central terrain rather than race courses or formal slopestyle competition.
Brueninghaus' strongest film credit is Big Mess of Homies, released in November 2021. North Coast described the project as a street video created by combining footage from Maine skiers because the local scene was relatively isolated from the rest of the East Coast. Sean appeared with Ryan Brueninghaus, Kyle Bell, Sam Scheff, Rowan Stamp, Carson Theriault, Ben Amburgey, Tommy Cogswell, Zeke Tocci and others.
The production credits for Big Mess of Homies list Ben Amburgey and Ian Bohrmann as primary filmmakers, with riders also contributing footage. That structure matches Brueninghaus' broader public record: collaborative street filming, resort park sessions and a regional crew rather than a conventional competition career. No World Cup, Nor-Am, X Games or Dew Tour record has been found under his name, leaving independent East Coast ski video as the clearest documented part of his skiing.
Selection based on documented full-film projects rather than short park edits.
