Freddie Grann merges freestyle skiing with fine art by using his edges to apply paint onto massive canvases positioned across the mountain slopes. By placing these surfaces directly on the snow, the team captures physical motion as permanent visual expressions. Using technical turns and precise maneuvers, the athlete distributes vibrant colors through his athletic discipline. This project translates fluid backcountry style into a tangible medium within the high alpine environment.

A rider’s tracks create art in the mountains. This art vanishes with the next storm, but we wanted to make it stay, so we hauled big canvases out into the mountain and let our skiing be the paintbrushes.
