On 15 February 2025, skis and poles scattered across the landing after Victor Knutsen crashed on his opening big-air attempt in Bakuriani. A cloud of snow followed him down the landing before he got back to his feet and returned to the start. The remaining jumps left no margin for another mistake: clean take-offs and landings were required to build a complete total. Knutsen responded with two controlled jumps, turning the rough first impact into one of the central moments of his week in Georgia.
Knutsen entered the European Youth Olympic Festival slopestyle final after leading qualification with 93.25 points. On 12 February, his first final run scored 87.50 and eventually placed him third behind Switzerland's Viktor Maksyagin and Austria's Benjamin Lengger. Knutsen increased the rotations in his second run, but the connection between the second and third jumps broke down and the run received no score. The bronze was his first medal of the Bakuriani week.
Three days later, Knutsen returned for big air after again leading qualification. His second final jump received 94.00, the highest individual jump score in the men's final, before an 86.00 on his last attempt produced a 180.00 total. Benjamin Lengger won with 183.00, while Viktor Maksyagin finished third on 179.50. Knutsen took silver, adding a second medal in Georgia after the slopestyle bronze.
Knutsen moved into senior World Championship competition at St. Moritz Engadin in March 2025. He entered the slopestyle field alongside Swedish teammates Axel Burmansson and Martin Nordqvist and finished 34th. The championship then shifted to big air, where the qualification format admitted only five skiers from each heat to the final. The event gave Knutsen two senior World Championship starts during the same week before his first full World Cup winter.
The big-air qualification on 27 March produced a new trick in Knutsen's competition skiing. After falling on his first attempt, he landed both remaining jumps, including the first switch double cork 1800 of his career. He had first tried the trick during practice for the qualifier. Knutsen finished 29th in the championship big air, while the five-rider-per-heat cut kept him outside the final.
Knutsen was born in Falun and represents IFK Falun Alpin and Falu Snowpark. After the 2024/25 winter he joined Sweden's development national team and began training alongside the country's senior freeski group. His sponsors include Elan, Roxa, Grease Guardians and ICA Supermarket Idrebua. A cork 540 is his stated favourite trick, while trampoline is his preferred activity away from ski training. Elan also carries him in its international athlete team as a Swedish rider from Falun.
Before the World Cup season, Knutsen trained with the Swedish team in Stubai's Prime Park and landed five tricks on snow that he had not completed there before. His first World Cup result came in Steamboat on 13 December 2025, where he finished 51st in big air. The slopestyle season opened with 57th at Snowmass in January before he improved to 33rd at Laax, his best World Cup result before the circuit reached France in March.
Tignes produced Knutsen's first World Cup final in his fourth start at that level. The slopestyle course was one of the longest and largest on the circuit. His first final run scored 68.80 and initially put him fourth; a mistake on the first jump of his second run prevented an improvement. He finished 10th, behind Tormod Frostad and ahead of Mac Forehand, while Miro Tabanelli won ahead of Birk Ruud and Henry Sildaru.
Bad weather postponed the Tignes big-air qualification until 20 March, when Knutsen finished 22nd in the World Cup result. The two disciplines therefore gave him a top ten and another points-scoring finish during the same stop.
On 28 March 2026, Knutsen finished 52nd in the Silvaplana World Cup slopestyle. The result closed his first World Cup season with 26 slopestyle points and 28th place in the discipline standings.
