Overview and significance Massanutten Resort is a four-season mountain destination in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, with its ski area rising above the community of McGaheysville, about 20 minutes from Harrisonburg. On snow, the resort offers roughly 82–83 skiable acres, 23 named runs, and a vertical drop of about 1,100 feet, which gives it the largest lift-served vertical in Virginia and in neighboring Maryland and Pennsylvania.
