4WEST Sessions 2026 was introduced as a new community-driven freeski event at Banff Sunshine Village, Alberta, on April 4 and 5 2026. The format was not a scored contest with a public podium. It connected riders with filmers and photographers across the mountain and terrain parks, using a loose schedule built around creativity, individual lines and documented sessions rather than heats or finals.
The event was presented with support from JOYSTICK, Salomon Depart, Sunshine Village and Intuition. Morning registration and safety meetings set the structure, then riders were free to explore the mountain. The Salomon Depart crew was also present for ski demos, giving the weekend a gear-testing and session atmosphere rather than a strict rail-jam frame.
