Steep couloirs descend toward the lake at Tignes in January 2024. The Couloirs des Tufs competition face begins at 2,495 metres and covers 400 metres of vertical terrain, with gradients reaching 45 degrees. During the French Freeride Series qualifier on 27–28 January, this mountain face brought together a field of men's ski competitors. French freerider Maxence Clément, associated with Val d'Isère, entered the event alongside riders including William Cattaneo, Finbar Doig and Xavier Scherwey. The competition formed part of the European and Oceanian Freeride World Tour Qualifier circuit.

Clément finished 21st in the men's ski classification at Tignes, where Swiss rider William Cattaneo took first place ahead of Finbar Doig and Xavier Scherwey. The January event was one of two appearances recorded for Clément during the 2024 qualifier season. Its steep, exposed terrain provided a competitive setting for freeride skiing, in which riders select their own lines across a natural mountain face.

On 16–17 March 2024, Clément competed at the Bonneval-sur-Arc Freeride World Tour Qualifier, a three-star event featuring slopes inclined at approximately 40 degrees. He won the men's ski competition, finishing ahead of Luca Manetta and Yan Viallet. The victory earned him 1,100 qualifier points. Combined with the 206 points from Tignes, his two recorded results brought his 2024 FWT Qualifier Europe-Oceania total to 1,306 points.
